Bollywood Actors and Actresses Who Never Worked Together After Break-up

Apart from producing romantic movies, Bollywood has also been a fertile land for love buds to blossom. And we are talking about real life couples, who had clandestine affairs behind the camera.

The latest couple that hit the headlines is Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The duo shared cozy chemistry on- and off-screen while doing Bachna Ae Haseeno and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. After bidding bye-bye to each other, both are coming together in Tamasha.

From Black and White era through retro years to the current times, many reel life actors and actresses have shown love & affection towards each other in real life. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get along forever and had to break their ties. So, here we share a list of popular pairs who parted their ways after a brief period of a ‘lovely’ liaison.

Bollywood Actors and Actresses Who Never Worked Together After Break-up

Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha:

You may forget your own love story, but not this one. Their off-screen proximity created much sensation in the entertainment world, and national media generated reams around the love story of senior Bachchan and Rekha. The pair was last seen in Silsila, which was co-starred by Mrs. Bachchan and Sanjiv Kumar.

Raj Kapoor and Nargis:

Another romantic pair that should have continued living together (at least this was a wish of their admirers). After giving a parade of hits like Aag, Andaz, Barsaat, Awaara, Aah, Shree 420, and Chori Chori, the duo never worked together. When Nargis asked her paramour to give divorce to his wife Krishna, Raj backed out. Thus, the love story didn’t see Happy Ending. Both were last seen in Chori Chori, which was released in 1956.

Dev Anand and Suraiya:

Suraiya fell in love with Dev Anand during the shooting of a song from the film Vidya; while shooting a scene, the boat they were in capsized. Anand didn’t miss this opportunity to show chivalry and saved her from drowning. After some secret rendezvous, Dev proposed Suraiya with a diamond ring worth Rs 3000/-. However, Suraiya’s maternal grandmother disapproved this relationship as they were Muslim and Dev was Hindu. Together they gave seven hits: Vidya, Jeet, Shair, Afsar, Nili, Do Sitare and Sanam.

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan:

Their romance brewed during the shooting of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. It was Salman’s possessive nature that caused break-up. Aishwarya then became Mrs. Bachchan after marrying Jr. Bachchan, i.e. Abhishek Bachchan. Movie-goers will always remember their on-screen romance in the only movie they did.

Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor-Khan:

Everybody lauds the professionalism this pair showed during their last movie together – Jab We Met. And let me tell you that before signing this movie, it was splitsville for both the stars. Before this, Shahid and Kareena were seen in movies like Fida and 36 China Town. But the pair was successfully cast by Imtiaz Ali in Jab We Met. Can you forget that scene where the two locked their lips? Shahid was also romantically engaged with Priyanka Chopra during the shoot and release of Kaminey.

John Abraham and Bipasha Basu:

The black beauty and the man with dimpled cheeks dated at least for ten years. During their courtship period, both worked in around six movies. Later on John walked out of the relationship and got married with Priya Runchal in 2014. Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal was the last movie when both were paired opposite each other; they were also cast in Race 2, but didn’t share the screen for once.
