How to Get Refunds for Paid Apps from App Store

After the release of iOS 10 beta, there were many casualties on App Store. Many iPhone and iPad users purchased apps from App Store, and they didn’t get what the apps promised to deliver. In simple words, apps fail to give the best performance or they simply didn’t work.

This happens many times and you can’t blame any single person or organization for this. Better find a solution to get rid of the problem and save your money.

If this had happened on Google Play Store, you would have found a simple solution. But you are now dealing with App Store, which is not as simple as you think of. To get refunds paid for apps from App Store, you need to follow some procedure.

How to Get Refunds for Paid Apps from App Store

There are two ways you can claim refunds for paid apps from App Store: either you use iTunes on your Mac or PC, or you can use browser.

Use iTunes

Step #1: Open iTunes on your Mac or personal computer.

Step #2: Click on Account option from the bar.

Step #3: From the drop-down menu, click on View My Account.

Step #4: Enter your Apple ID and password.

Step #5: You will be landed on Account Information page; scroll down and click on Purchase History or Purchases section.

Step #6: Next, click on ‘See All’.

Step #7: You are now on Purchase History page. Click on Report a Problem option, which is right below the purchases you have made on iTunes.

Step #8: Click on Report a Problem link given next to the item you want a refund for.

Step #9: Next, you will be landed on Apple website, where you can report your problem and apply for refund.

Step #10: Fill in necessary details and then hit ‘Submit’ button.

It is Apple’s discretion to consider your application eligible; if everything is good, Apple will start processing for your refund and you will get an email from the brand.

Use a Browser

You can also use a web browser and log in to your Apple ID to register a claim for refund. Many users appreciate this method as it eliminates the need to use iTunes, which may take more time. Moreover, sometimes they have to update to the latest version of iTunes before they can raise a concern.

Step #1: Open reportaproblem.apple.com on your browser.

Step #2: Log in with your Apple ID and password; you will see all your purchases.

Step #3: Now find the purchase you want to get refund for, and then click on ‘Report a Problem’ button next to the item.

Step #4: You will see a drop-down menu ‘Choose Problem’; click on it.

Step #5: Five options will be seen: I didn’t authorize this purchase; Item didn’t download or can’t be found; Item won’t install or downloads too slowly; Item opens but doesn’t function as expected; and Problem is not listed here.

If you click on the last option, you will be able to describe your problem in detail.

Step #6: Finally, click on Submit button.
