How to Change your Nickname on Google Home and Google Home Mini

When you setup your Google Home on your iPhone or Android phone, you give your first name and last name, apart from your Google account credentials. During this process, your first name becomes your nickname by default. Normally, when you have first registered your Google Account (probably many moons ago), you must have given your real name. If you want to add some spice to your interaction with smart speaker, you can change your nickname on Google Home.

Note that a nickname is your humorous name that shows your funny or eccentric side of character; and Google Home might face some difficulty in pronouncing your nickname. Well, you can always teach your Google Assistant how to pronounce your nickname correctly. But as of now, you want to change your nickname on your Google Home.

What nicknames you can use?

As mentioned above, your nickname reveals your humorous character or funny side of your personality. However, many users got their nicknames for their habits. Moreover, your nickname could be your childhood name affectionately given by your parents or grandparents. It is your cute name that you are going to change on your Google Home. First, confirm which nickname you want to use on your Google Home as you have to train Google Assistant so that it can identify your name.

People also like to use some historical characters or some famous characters from literature. In both cases, it will be difficult for Google Assistant to pronounce; so my advice is that keep your nickname simple.
