Creating smart home device group allows you to use a single command to turn on or turn off the devices. Normally, such groups are created when you have installed smart home devices in multiple rooms of your house. Once you make the group, you can use Alexa to control smart home devices. Check this guide to create a smart home device group.
Note that you can add your Amazon Echo device to one smart group at a time. When the group is created, simply speak one Alexa command, like “Alexa, turn on lights”. The entire group of lights will illuminate at the same time. Similarly, you can create groups of the smart home devices, which are similar in functionality.
How will Alexa Enabled Smart Home Devices Group Help You?
When you make Alexa group, you don’t have to use separate commands to control different smart home devices at home. For example, when you come home in the evening and want to light up your living room, simply say, “Alexa, turn on lights ‘Living room’”. All the Alexa compatible light bulbs in the group will illuminate at the same time. This obviously saves your time as you don’t have to use different commands to turn on each light.
