How to Disable Bixby Button on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus

Bixby is perhaps the most popular and feature-rich intelligent personal assistant available on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. If you rate any such voice assistant based on the commands, then Bixby has certainly challenged Siri and Google Assistant with countless Bixby voice commands. This has inspired other Samsung users to use Bixby on their phones. Well, they can install Bixby on any Samsung device running Android Nougat. But our case is that people now want to disable Bixby button on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.

Oops! Why they want to turn off Bixby button on Galaxy S8/S8 Plus phones? Though the feature makes your life easier, it is positioned on the phone in such a way that it creates some problems for users. Users have noticed that they unintentionally open Bixby even as they don’t need the assistance of Bixby. And this is why they want to disable Bixby button completely on S8 and S8 Plus.

How to Disable Bixby Button on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus

To invoke Bixby, you need to tap on Home button. Since Bixby works the way Google Assistant does, many users don’t want Bixby on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t allow you to disable Bixby from app manager.

Thankfully, there is an app available in Google Play Store. Package Disabler Pro is an app you can use to disable Bixby completely.

Step #1: Once you download the Package Disabler Pro on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus, activate as Device Administrator and allow the app to activate license.

Step #2: You will be landed on Samsung disclaimer screen; tap on Confirm and you will be taken to the main page.

Step #3: Here, you have a search bar to use; you should search for Bixby or simply type ‘Bixby’ and the Bixby apps appear.

Step #4: Now choose all Bixby apps and tap on Home button to disable all Bixby apps on your Galaxy S8/S8 Plus.

The Bixby button on your smartphone is disabled now and when you swipe right to the Bixby screen from home screen, you will see an error message. After pressing the Home button, don’t forget to restart your Samsung device.

Though the action will disable Bixby Voice too, you can manually disable Bixby Voice on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus.

Once you disable Bixby, some other apps may not work on your phone properly. So if Bixby is not too much disturbing, you should not turn off Bixby on Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus.
