How to Use Secure Folder

This is interesting. When you copy an app to Secure Folder, it is a separate installation; this means the app doesn’t share any data with the regular version of app and you can sign in with a different username. Moreover, if you download anything on the app copied in Secure Folder will not be available in the regular version of the same app.

How to Install an App to Secure Folder

Step #1: Launch Secure Folder app from the app drawer.

Step #2: Sign in with a method you have opted when you have set up things.

Step #3: Locate Add apps button and tap on the button.

Step #4: Here, you can either select an app from your phone or you can download a new app from Google Play Store or Samsung Apps.

This newly downloaded app will settle in Secure Folder app and you can use it with utmost privacy. Each time you open the app from Secure Folder, you should remember that you can’t share data between Secure Folder app and regular version of the app. For example, if you create an event in Calendar app in Secure Folder, the event will not be seen in the regular version of the Calendar app.

To edit the apps in Secure Folder, simply tap on Edit apps button instead of Add apps button. You can select any app you want to remove from the Secure Folder; or you can create a direct shortcut (on home screen) of an app stored in Secure Folder.

How to Move Files to Secure Folder Manually

Step #1: Launch Secure Folder app from the app drawer by tapping app icon.

Step #2: Sign in with the method you have selected earlier to set up Secure Folder.

You can select My Files button to add any file to Secure Folder. This will fire up file browser and from there you can select it like you normally do. You can also create filter for pictures, music, documents and videos with the help of shortcuts when you tap on Add files button.

Note that when you move files to Secure Folder, you can access the files from Secure Folder only, but if you choose to copy files, you can always access the original from any app.
