Playing games on the bigger screen of Mac gives your eyes more pleasure and excitement. But keyboard and mouse fail to supply enough fun. You wish you had a gaming controller to play your favourite games. Here is a trick; surprisingly, you can use your Joy-Con controller to play video games on your Mac.
Floored? You read that right. If the game you play accepts Bluetooth controllers, your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con can be your gaming controller on Mac. Read this guide and use your Joy-Con controller to play video games on Mac.
How to Pair a Joy-Con to a Mac
You can pair the Joy-Con when they are detached from your Nintendo Switch; this will not allow you to use Joy-Con together in the Joy-Con grip style on Mac. Good news is that you can pair both Joy-Cons simultaneously.
Step #1: First off, turn off Nintendo Switch. This will disconnect Joy-Con from the Switch.
Step #2: Press and hold Sync button on Joy-Con (either left or right, which one you want to pair) until you see green flash lights.
Note that Sync button is available on the flat side of your Joy-Con; it’s a small black button.
Step #3: Next, click on Bluetooth button from the menu bar on your Mac.
Step #4: Now click on Open Bluetooth Preferences.
Step #5: Finally, click Pair button next to Joy-Con you want to connect.
How to Pair Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with Mac
If you are using Nintendo Switch Pro controller, you can pair it with your Mac and enjoy playing games on the bigger screen.
Step #1: First, turn off Nintendo Switch to disable connection between the Switch and Pro Controller.
Step #2: Next, click the Bluetooth button from the Menu bar on your Mac.
Step #3: Now click on Open Bluetooth Preferences.
Step #4: You need to press and hold Sync button on the Pro Controller. This Sync button (a small black button) is located on the top of Pro Controller.
Step #5: Finally, click on Pair button next to the Pro Controller on Mac.
That’s it! Now you can use either your Joy-Cons or Pro Controller to play video games on your Mac.
