Requirements
The first thing that we want to mention about group calls is that not all iPhones and iPads meet the requirements for this feature. The device needs to run on a minimum of iOS 12.1.4 or later to set up FaceTime group calls. On the bright side of things, older iPhone and iPad models can join the groups as participants. In addition, the video calling app needs to be enabled from the Settings panel.
How to Start a Group FaceTime Call with Your Friends
- Open FaceTime and tap on the Plus Button;
- Add new participants to the group call by selecting them from your contacts list (32 maximum);
- All that is left to do is to tap on Video to start a video call or on Audio to disable cameras.
